Our Story

Ari Mentzel and David Solomon, CFP®, both former corporate banking executives, cofounded Carbon Wealth Advisors in 2021. Together, they combined over 50 years of work experience and a diverse skill set to form their boutique wealth management firm, rooted in transparency and trust. They are dedicated to delivering best-in-class service and strategies to their clients, whether the client is preparing for retirement – or just starting their investment journey.

The idea formed when Ari realized his passion for delivering clear, effective financial advice to his friends and family, offering a version of what he was doing for himself. In 2021, he recognized it was time to shift his career to match his calling and turned to his college friend, David Solomon, for advice.

At the time, David was a Goldman Sachs wealth management and retirement specialist, so he enthusiastically shared his industry knowledge with Ari. It was during one of their many long chats that the idea sparked: Ari was jogging around the reservoir in Central Park (his “happy place”) talking to David when he realized they were both looking for an entrepreneurial shift – and could form the ideal partnership.

Today, Ari and David remain committed to educating others about the importance of planning for the future and pride themselves on helping clients better understand their finances with a comprehensive, service-first approach.
